Local banker to head Hunter Mutual
Well known local identity and keen horseman Sid Collison has been appointed the Hunter Mutual’s new Regional Manager.
Mr Collison, a banker with 34 years experience in the region, took up his new post recently and will be based at Muswellbrook.
“I’m excited about the new products the merger with The Community Mutual Group brings,” he said.
“That includes credit card facilities, small business lending and a reduction in transaction fees for a start. The new transaction fee structure commences in April and will be a significant reduction for our members in the Hunter.”
The new Regional Manager said a further benefit of the merger was retaining the local name and identity and local decision making on loan applications.
“Most of our business is in the consumer market, home, personal and small business loans,” he said. “We have appointed a new mobile lending manager, Ricky Field, who will be available at our smaller centres.”
Mr Collison’s wife Judy is the Health Service Manager at Murrurindi Hospital and the couple have four daughters. They live on a small farm outside Scone where Mr Collison keeps his horses for local campdraft competition.
He began his career with the Rural Bank in Scone in 1976 and since then has worked at West Tamworth, Wyong, Rylestone, Orange, Gloucester and Muswellbrook.
Hunter Mutual includes a membership of 5,5000 with branches at Singleton, Muswellbrook, Scone and Merriwa and agencies at Denman, Aberdeen and Murrundi.
