The Community Mutual Groups offsets carbon emissions by 100% for website and emails!
The Community Mutual Group are pleased to announce that as part of our organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, our website, Facebook page and staff emails are now 100% carbon offset!
This has been achieved by purchasing carbon credits for a total offset of 5 tonnes of carbon emissions per annum. The credits purchased are certified credits purchased from Forest NSW, part of the NSW Department of Primary Industries.
You will notice a “tickgreen” logo on our homepage. You will see this displayed wherever a business has offset their carbon emissions by 100%. The internet is one of the most powerful communication and research tools we have. By offsetting our carbon emissions created by our internet usage, we can continue to proactively source information while maintaining our goal to reduce our environmental footprint.
In the 08/09 financial year, we reduced our kilometres travelled by 10,354km’s by installing state of the art video conferencing technology and have reduced our carbon emissions by 3.79tonnes by using this technology and upgrading our fleet of vehicles so they include high environmental ratings.
